About

“Music in Princeton” is a public musicology initiative launched in February 2013.  Led by Eric Hung, Associate Professor of Music History at Westminster Choir College of Rider University, this blog seeks to explore the many types of music making in Princeton, NJ.  Most contributors are students at Westminster Choir College of Rider University, and they will write about professional ensembles, such as the Princeton Symphony, and amateur groups, such as the Princeton Folk Music Society.  They will explore student-led organizations, such as the Princeton Nassoons and the Princeton Georgian Choirs, and the various venues in the city, such as McCarter Theater and Small World Coffee.  There will be profiles of musicians, coverage of events, and discussions of unique aspects of music making in Princeton.  On this website, there will also be a page devoted to upcoming event listings, and a page of links.

Once or twice a semester, there will be a public event associated with the “Music in Princeton” project.  The inaugural event will take place on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Williamson Hall on the campus of Westminster Choir College.  Admission is free.  The show will explore many types of music that can currently created in Princeton.  Stay tuned for details!
